People2people are partnering with a Not for Profit Transport and Logistics Company who are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their tight-knit and high performing Finance team. This opportunity will commence on a 6- mth fixed term contract with a view to moving to permanent. The business will provide training, mentoring and development opportunities.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include;
Full function Accounts Payable, Receivables
Maintain standing POs.
Ensure that any invoice sent to Accounts Payable for payment and confirm receipt where practical
Provide reliable transactional support to the Finance Manager to ensure the integrity of the financial information provided to stakeholders.
Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
Review of credit card transactions.
Maintenance of fixed asset register and associated reconciliations.
Assist in compliance with GST and other relevant statutory obligations.
Manage credit application process & liaise with relevant contacts.
About You
The successful applicant will have/be;
Ideally studying towards CA or CPA with some AP, AR and month-end experience
A high level of attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong systems and Excel skills
A thirst for knowledge and keenness to be mentored
A positive and professional attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
