Description of business unit
Group Treasury ("GT") is responsible for providing top-down control with respect to funding, liquidity, capital management and structural market risk, ensuring a co-ordinated approach to balance sheet management to support the Group's growth ambitions. Group Treasury works closely with Group functions (Finance, Risk, Strategy, Legal and Investor Relations) on policy, risk management, strategy development and monitoring.
GT supports the Group purpose of enabling customers, colleagues and communities to thrive, in particular, by;
- Helping colleagues to navigate financial markets.
- Facilitating growth in balanced profits by optimising the Group balance sheet.
Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a team member to support the day-to-day management of the Group's Liquid Asset portfolio and Group Treasury strategic priorities.
Key Accountabilities
- Key team member of Liquid Asset team - responsible for the management of the Group's high-quality liquid asset (HQLA) securities portfolio, ensuring that the composition and structure of the portfolio is in compliance with ALCO approved policy and regulatory requirements
- Contributing to key portfolio management considerations including liquidity, capital, income, credit quality and market risk.
- Support the Head of Liquid Assets in preparing investment proposals for consideration by the Head of Group Balance Sheet Management & Execution/ Group Treasurer as required
- Working closely with key external counterparties including investment banks, securities issuers and research analysts
- Ensuring all team risks are managed and controls are operating optimally.
- Group Treasury support;
- Represent Head of Liquid Assets at relevant fora as required
- Support other Group Treasury strategic projects as required

Essential Qualifications
- Relevant financial qualification (or currently studying towards same).

- Good numerical, analytical and quantitative analysis skills
- A curiosity about Financial Markets, local and geo-politics, economics or behavioural science.
- Contribution to revenue optimisation.
- Risk management experience
