Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated private markets specialist to join us as part of our APAC Private Markets solutions team. This is a highly visible role and you will be responsible for developing viable commercial solutions and proposals in the Private Market field across all STT client segments - Asset Managers, Asset Owners, Insurance, Official Institutions and Alternatives Managers. The ideal applicant will have an organized and creative mind-set (thought leader) that drives him or her to find innovative solutions and to drive business growth.

Why this role is important to us

You will be joining the Institutional Services function that allows us to deliver a comprehensive, holistic approach to each client relationship — for asset managers and asset owners, insurance companies, and official institutions globally. It means our client-facing functions work together to bring the very best solutions and services the firm has to offer — across all of our locations, products, and capabilities.

Join us if making your mark on the long-lasting client relationships we build is a challenge you are up for.

What you will be responsible for

As Private Market Solutions Managing Director, you will

  • Provide subject matter expertise - You will have a good understanding of the Private Markets landscape spanning Private Equity, Real Assets, Hybrid and Infrastructure asset classes and have a good understanding of source systems and processes of major vendors. You would have gained this knowledge either operationally in a buy-side environment and/or a vendor environment, and will be working closely with subject matter experts across different divisions - it is important that you can develop solutions that can be deployed for complex clients.
  • Drive solutions proposals and architecture - You will lead and partner with teams across our global organisation to define and solution critical deals and to ensure that the relevant subject matter experts are consulted and that critical design assumptions and strategic options are thoroughly explored.
  • Research & Market Surveillance - We believe we have the best solutions. However, the market is constantly disrupted. We need you to ensure key competitor intelligence is constantly updated and emergent industry trends are captured where relevant. Our value proposition should evolve to remain relevant.
  • Perform business cost analysis, strategy business case and risk analysis of large and complex deals.
  • Partner with the Coverage team to develop a robust pipeline. Provide guidance and direction to the team to drive business development, including providing support in Request for Information / Proposals, ensuring quality work artefacts and participating in commercial negotiations.
  • Lead the design and implementation of key metrics to drive the sustainable growth of the private markets business across all major segments within Asia Pacific.
  • Provide any required post-sales guidance to support the smooth implementation of the proposed solution.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • Solid experience and track record in business development and management
  • MBA is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills and strong written and verbal communication

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a university degree (accounting degree strongly preferred; business, finance or technology degree required)
  • At least 15years of accounting and/or financial service experience
  • Strong knowledge of Private Markets requirements and operations
