  • We have a remote-first culture and this position can be based anywhere from Australia or New Zealand. This role can be fully remote or a hybrid if you are in Melbourne. We encourage you to work in the way that best suits you

You are the clear owner of all payroll processes and are delivering related financial information that is required by the business, external parties and the Finance Team, with goals, priorities and development plans clearly communicated. You will identify improvements to optimise processes and build a growth strategy to match the evolving needs of the team and business, whilst also determine resourcing needs to support the stream's evolution.

You'll collaborate closely across the Finance and People & Experience teams to ensure that the team understands your requirements from them, that they have visibility of your work streams and priorities and you use your knowledge to amplify others' skills.

As part of this team of amazing humans,

You will
  • Manage and oversee the Payroll function and its priorities, including accountability over the timely and accurate execution of day-to-day processes.
  • Drive growth and development through the team, ensuring available opportunities are clear and provided timely
  • Empower team members to be decision makers and encouragement of continual improvement
  • Provide complete, reliable and accurate information and analysis that supports decision making and is underpinned by robust processes that are understood within the team
  • Deliver effective stakeholder management within the Finance Team and all touch points in the business - timelines and deliverables clearly communicated and any expected deviations managed and progress/status clearly communicated
  • Protect CAmpers through robust and considered payroll management
  • Manage necessary ESOP reporting for monthly grants and payroll tax requirements
  • Manage global tax obligations, including monthly, quarterly and annual lodgements, to ensure that all obligations are met accurately and in a timely basis
  • Contribute to Finance Team culture. Close collaboration with peers, sharing knowledge and focus on team finance goals as well as individual goals


You have
  • 10 years+ of working in payroll roles
  • Familiarity with payroll regimes in APAC, NA and EMEA and a track record in effectively managing 3rd parties to deliver compliance services (must have US, AU and nice to have UK, Germany, NZ)
  • Experience in a hyper growth environment
  • Proven ability to self learn new jurisdiction requirements and communicate those to relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to facilitate and drive innovative thinking to develop considered implementation project plans
  • Foresight to implement new policies and procedures to optimize the function for success in a hyper growth environment
  • Proven leadership and collaboration style that motivates, engages and develops team members
  • Ability to build, communicate and evolve effective controls that ensure reliability of financial information and protect assets


You are
  • Able to communicate complex situations and solutions clearly and concisely (verbally and in writing)
  • Fastidious with attention to detail with ability to quickly spot numbers that look out of place + validates accuracy and completeness through automated cross checks and reconciliations
  • An effective and proactive manager of stakeholder engagement with business partner approach that results in the business seeing finance as a customer focused team that helps them achieve their goals
  • Highly organized and skilled at creating structure in situations that are uncertain or ambiguous for a rapidly growing business
  • An instinctive can do personality that sees/develops solutions and seeks appropriate input
  • A people manager who enjoys coaching and developing others
