Due to continued growth we are looking for an Accounts Semi-senior based at our Aylesbury and Berkhamsted offices. An excellent opportunity is available for either an ACCA, ACA part qualified or qualified by experience accounts person. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of accountancy and will have practice experience with accounts of SME's and good commercial awareness. Must be able to communicate at all levels and be able to build and develop client relationships. Knowledge of the IRIS Accountancy Suite, Xero and Sage is a distinct advantage.

Duties will be:

  • Produce an accounts working file,
  • Clear arising queries with clients and produce a list of discussion points for the senior managers or director.
  • Work within a budget agreed at the planning stage.
  • Produce draft tax computations for inclusion in the accounts.
  • Inclusion of statutory disclosures in line with the company checklist.
  • Plan and control professional work for the firm's clients within the firm's standard procedures and identify basic planning opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of computer based programs.
  • Attend Haines Watts led training and seminars to further develop and maintain technical and personal development skills.
  • Attend training to further develop and maintain technical skills and if not yet attained to work towards a professional qualification.
  • Professionally represent the firm and its interests in dealings with clients and other professionals.

Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA part qualified or in final year of AAT
  • Prepare analyses and make postings using accounting software
  • Produce draft financial statements for Limited Companies
  • Produce draft tax computations for Limited Companies
  • Assist more senior members of the team as required
  • Preparation of management accounts
