Description

As the Financial Accountant based in Redhill, Surrey you will be responsible for:

You'll be an essential part of the team, developing and maintaining a pro-active service within the company. Your ability to build and maintain relationships along with your communications skills will help with managing Finance relationships

  • Company Secretarial and Statutory reporting
    • Assist in preparing the annual statutory accounts for 3 entities
    • Assisting with the submission of the annual returns for 3 entities
    • Calculation of IFRS adjustments, including but not exhaustive to IFRS16
    • Assist in preparing the Finance Board Pack for Board Meetings
  • Audits
    • Be a key point of contact with external auditors
    • Assist in the information gathering for the Statutory audits for the UK and Ireland entities
    • Assist with the Group audit for the UK Insurance Branch
  • Internal Control review
    • Assist in the roll out and implementation of Finance Internal Controls
    • Assist in defining the controls required with the Finance function
    • Observe, monitor and maintain the Internal controls list for Finance function
  • Preparation of schedules for regulators and other external parties (e.g. FCA, auditors)
  • Tax matters
    • Review of Vat related topics across
    • Completion of Indirect Tax controls
    • Ad hoc tax queries on contracts and activity in the UK and Ireland
    • Assisting with the annual corporation tax return work for 3 entities and 1 Branch
    • Assisting with the completion and information gathering for Transfer pricing documentation
  • Promoting and managing change within the finance function, working with all colleagues in a collaborative style:
    • Performing the monthly permanent control checks for Group
    • Performing ad-hoc internal control checks as deemed appropriate by the Compliance, Risk and Internal Control Department.
    • Identification of weaknesses within current processes and controls, recommending and implementing agreed solutions
    • Supporting other areas of the finance team during times of low staff resource or staff absence
  • Support CEO, Finance Director and Head Office with timely management information
    • Be a first point of contact in finance for requests from our region's controllers.
    • Timely completion of all group reporting schedules.

Profile

Part qualified studying towards ACCA/CIMA ideally with previous experience in a similar role

As a person, you work very well within a team and have a positive attitude.

Strong Communication Skills

Ideally exposure to / knowledge of VAT and experience of company Tax reporting including VAT, IPT and PAYE.

Job Offer

Salary £35,000 - £40,000

Bonus Scheme of up to 10%

Study Support for the professional accounting exams with time off and reimbursement of study costs

Monday to Friday 9-5 with an hours lunch (35 hours a week),

Hybrid Working with 2-3 days a week from home
