Make an impact with our Indigenous Services ease team as a Designated Professional that provides remote accounting services to clients across Canada. This diverse team of professionals are dedicated to exceeding clients’ unique needs within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide comprehensive, tailored financial information that enables clients to make informed decisions with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Support all accounting operations regarding full cycle accounting.
  • Monitor and control quality of Indigenous ease engagements through working with our clients, internal team members and relationship managers
  • Monitor the quality of financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, including report variances
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and publish timely, accurate and compliant financial statements
  • Complete review of other Indigenous ease-related reports for accuracy and completeness as required
  • Support new ease implementations by providing the implementation team required information for client setup and deliverable creation (e.g. suggested timing for cut-offs and key calendar dates)
  • Maintain charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
  • Develop effective working relationships and maintain existing relationship with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members

Skills and Experience

  • CPA designation (CAFM designation considered an asset)
  • Experience working with full-cycle accounting processes
  • Knowledge of Sage 300, Sage Intacct, Adagio, Xyntax, QBO or Xero considered an asset
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
