At EY, you'll be given the opportunity to build your career in a way that works for you! Our global scale, inclusive culture, immersive training and support program, and flexible working arrangements will enable you to effectively define and achieve your career goals. We're also counting on your unique skills, experience and perspectives to help EY become even better, too.

Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

As a member of our Enterprise Risk practice, you will be part of a team who are passionate about working with a diverse range of clients to help them better identify, understand and manage their risks, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and achieve their strategic objectives. At EY you will work with clients focused on a range of transformational activities, such as investing in renewable energy technology, improving organisation resilience, building infrastructure that will change how we live, work and travel in the future, and delivering vital health care, education and social services for our communities.

The opportunity

We are looking for Consultants / Senior Consultants to join the Enterprise Risk and Internal Audit team of our Perth Consulting practice. This role is offered on a full-time basis, with full workplace flexibility: our team and leaders embrace flexible working and you will have the opportunity to work from home, the EY office, at a client site or even your local coffee shop.

Your key responsibilities
  • You will work on diverse client engagement teams to deliver a variety of services such as enterprise risk management (ERM), governance, compliance, business resilience, contract performance, project management, and work health and safety engagements.
  • You can expect to work with top tier public and private sector clients, helping them to manage their most critical operational and strategic risks through the development and execution of internal audit plans. You will have discussions with stakeholders to understand their business processes; perform testing of key internal controls; analyse data sets to reveal key insights; and prepare reports with findings and recommendations to improve the management of key risks and the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
  • You will be flexible and comfortable with change. One day you might find yourself in your safety boots appraising the safety risks of heavy machinery, and the next day presenting data analysis results in a boardroom. Working at a mine site? A traffic operations centre? A prison? A hospital? These are just a few of the exciting locations where you will get to work.

Skills and attributes for success
  • Energy, enthusiasm, curiosity and passion for solving problems and driving continuous improvement
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with your client stakeholders and colleagues across EY's Consulting practice.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality deliverables with meaningful insights and practical recommendations
  • Ability to apply a structured approach and a demonstrated understanding of risk-based auditing methodologies

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Previous experience working in assurance, risk, governance, business improvement and/or compliance roles. You may have gained this experience in an operational, project management, health & safety or IT related role. Our clients face diverse risks and we are looking for Consultants with equally diverse backgrounds.
  • An existing understanding of key business systems, processes, risks and controls.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering multiple engagements and working effectively in a team.
  • Exceptional time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient and articulate report writing skills.

Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience working for a large corporate, government or professional services organisation as a risk consultant, internal auditor, project officer, health and safety advisor/auditor or compliance officer.
  • Certified Internal Auditor, Chartered Accountant, Certified Practicing Accountant and/or risk management, governance, project management, health and safety or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Emergency response experience from emergency services volunteering, mine rescue, paramedic volunteering, Surf Life Saving or your local bushfire brigade will be highly regarded.

What we offer

  • Success as defined by you: We'll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
  • Continuous learning: personalised career development including coaching, experiences and formal learning so you'll develop the mindset and skills you'll need to thrive in the future.
  • Diverse and inclusive culture: You'll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs.

At EY, you'll be rewarded and recognised based on your performance and our comprehensive benefits package can be tailored to your individual needs.

We hold a collective commitment to foster an environment where all differences are valued and respected, practices are equitable and everyone experiences a sense of belonging.
