Cost Accountant

CMA Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Cost Accountant for our Andover based client; a global leader in their field. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for determining the cost of business activity across raw materials, inventory, subcontractors, labour and overheads. They will manage the standard cost system, analyse costs and take responsibility for the accuracy of the standard cost inventory records, as well as assisting with month-end and year-end close.
This role offers great visibility across the business and is an integral part of a well-established and friendly team, reporting to the Site Director and working closely with Operations and Corporate
What will the role involve?

• Maintain Standard Cost System in AX and review, address anomalies and close Production Orders weekly.
• Perform analysis of Manufacturing Variances, monitor BOM cost, and changes that impact costing and valuation.
• Work with operations on continuous process improvement and serve as internal audit for cycle-count program.
• Supports month end closing activities and prepare weekly and monthly reports for submission to Corporate
• Perform ad hoc analysis of product/plant to support Operations.

Suitable Candidate:

• Relevant manufacturing analysis experience and thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
• Experience with bill of material management and variance analysis.
• Experience of improving processes and taking initiative to recommend changes to management.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to partner within a team.
