Job summary
Interested in joining a new exciting venture? Curious to be at the heart of where innovation meets customer obsession? Recently launched in the UK, Amazon Fresh Stores (AFSI) is the first convenience grocery store to offer Just Walk Out Technology in the UK. Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out (JWO) Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from, or returned to the shelves, and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you're done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we'll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt. Designed and custom-built by Amazonians, JWO uses a variety of technologies including computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning. Innovation is part of our DNA! We are incredibly proud of our selection too. We offer a mix of everyday essentials, local favourites and seasonal items we think you'll want and love, all at great prices. We're also excited to offer delicious ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat meals. Our goal is to be Earth's most customer-centric company and we are just getting started. We are looking for people who want to join an ambitious, innovative and customer obsessed program.

The Team:
This position will be part of the AFSI Data, Analytics, Insights, and Science (DAIS) team, which leads the delivery of advanced analytics, self-service reporting and visualisation, actionable commercial insights, and machine-learning applications that achieve tangible and scalable results for the business.

The Role:
We are looking for a Business Analyst to serve as a key data-driven commercial partner for our Amazon Fresh Private Brands (AFR PB) team. You will work cross-functionally with Business Intelligence Engineers, Product Managers, Vendor and Category Management Teams, and Senior Business Leaders across our physical stores and online retail channels.

You will make significant contributions to both AFSI and AFR PB by leveraging your strong analytical and technical skills to understand complex business problems. Through the creation of meaningful business metrics, reporting, visualization, and deep dive analysis, you will provide both analytical clarity and actionable insights to non-technical, commercial stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
• Deliver data products and conduct data analysis as defined in our annual data roadmap initiatives
• Partner with commercial stakeholders to translate business performance measures and goals into key metrics and indicators
• Build best-in-class reports and self-service analytical tools that provide analytical clarity for commercial stakeholders
• Deep dive into data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, Excel, Tableau, and Quicksight
• Support Business Intelligence Engineers in foundational data projects (e.g. predictive analytics, data science, machine learning) by inputting acquired domain expertise
• Assist commercial leaders with data analysis for strategic documents, proposals, and recommendations

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
• Strong SQL aptitude to operate in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets across multiple domains and industries
• Visualization expertise demonstrated through creating dynamic, self-service dashboards that enable commercial stakeholders to extract key insights simply and quickly (Tableau and Quicksight)
• Effective verbal and written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with various levels and teams within the organization
• Demonstrated experience in defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw meaningful business insights
• Exceptional analytical ability to leverage data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses
• Excellent stakeholder management to work seamlessly in cross-functional environments and prioritize multiple concurrent initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced skills in statistical & data analysis
• Relevant experience in financial analysis and forecasting
• Experience in a scripting language such as Python
• Exposure and familiarity with cloud computing
