IT Business Analyst

The IT Business Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team to drive efficient and scalable solutions that deliver value across the bank.

The overall objective of this role is to contribute to the continuous development of a strategic data application within the ISG (Information Services Group).

In this role you will work on a best in class system that acts as the strategic source for high quality Securities Reference data across the enterprise, enhancing it's capabilities and data in line with business and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse business client needs, derive test cases, understand and document their use case.
• Resolve problems by translating business requirements, identifying trends and defining scope to inform technical solution.
• Analysis of large sets of product reference data across Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Structured Finance securities from varying sources.
• Define and design enhancements to the system, business processes and process automation utilizing best practices and industry standards.
• Consult with users and clients to trouble shoot complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes and systems.
• Identify risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
• Prepare reports, metrics and presentations and exchange ideas/information in a concise and logical manner to business and IT stakeholders
• Test systems to ensure projects meet requirements and identify system problems to develop solutions based on analyses
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• Proven relevant experience

• Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, communication and presentation skills with an ability to tailor delivery to the required audience.
• Proven problem-solver with the ability to work under pressure, approach work methodically and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team across regions and functions.
• Proven self-motivation to take initiative and master new tasks quickly
• Experience in data analysis with knowledge of databases, data modelling and data analysis tools such as SQL.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, experience of JIRA also useful Familiarity with the various stages of Software Development Lifecycle and knowledge of applicable business systems and industry standards.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets/Investment Banking industry highly advantageous
