Job description

Position summary:

The successful candidate will be employed as a Fund Controller in a skilled and ambitious Operations team overseeing a diverse set of products. The role encompasses Fund Accounting, Investor Reporting and Data Control. The Fund Control team span Alcentra’s credit platform – the candidate ideally would have a strong knowledge of Leveraged Loan, Multi Credit and/or Structured Credit (CLO) products, be well versed in Accounting principles and have extensive experience in Performance Return calculations including contribution to return/attribution. Experience of Fund Attribution systems would be welcomed. Supervisory experience would also be advantageous.

The position will involve the following open ended fund duties:

  • Fund Accounting – overseeing production/review of NAVs produced from the Third Party Administrators, monitoring Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss, Class Performance and Hedging efficiency
  • Performance Return calculations – Portfolio and Share Class
  • Attribution – overseeing production and submission
  • Expense Budgets Calculations – overseeing Management and Performance fees, Expense Budgets and TERs
  • Reporting - Regulatory and Investor reporting
  • Audit - oversight and sign off of Financial Statements/ fund audits
  • Data – ensuring accuracy of data in the Front Office Systems and Data Warehouse

Candidate profile:

The successful candidate will work as a part of the team but with fair degree of autonomy. She or He must be able to stay self-motivated whilst working either in the office or from home, demonstrate investigative mind and curiosity. The candidate must be a strong team player, take responsibility and ownership of their work.

Strong mathematical skills as well as proficiency in Excel is essential.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, professional qualifications such as CFA/ACCA/CIMA necessary.
