The job involves working for Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, a global fund administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds.  The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function as an effective and strategic member in a dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment.  This individual will have a strong technical accounting background, experience working within the Financial Services industry, proficiency in VBA/Python coding, and a proven track record of working well with and leading others.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively perform/review/analyze reconciliation results for different Financial products including, but not limited to Stocks, ETFs, Fixed Income products, Swaps, Forwards, Futures, etc. and disseminate the right results to relevant Shared Service Groups
  • Actively engage with different internal Shared Service Groups (SSGs) as well as external parties such as our hedge fund client, custodians, and administrators to timely resolve any open breaks/issues and provide timely updates for any inquiries and SLA issues to every stakeholder involved
  • Leverage VBA/Python coding skills alongside in house technology to problem solve, automate/improve processes, implement controls, and increase scalability
  • Work actively with the team lead and managers in providing accurate feedback on different processes and team affairs and assist in executing action plans
  • Act as a key point of contact and subject matter expert in day-to-day operations and actively look to participate in all new account events and project initiatives
  • Actively work with the extended teams at different geographical locations and provide the best possible information and training

    Knowledge / Skills:

    • Able to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks without losing focus.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other MS Office applications
    • Proficient in VBA and/or Python coding
    • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment
    • Client focused
