C&ORC IB Operations Compliance Specialist

Your role
Are you someone who likes to work in a fast-paced environment? Are you looking for a role that will give you exposure to the different business divisions of a major investment bank?

We are looking for someone like that who can:

•act as a compliance and operational risk control (C&ORC) subject-matter expert for IB Operations, supporting them in managing risk
•provide specialized compliance advice in the US region including providing and updating rule interpretations as well as working with the Ops SMEs to ensure ongoing compliance with the CCP margin rules, Client Asset Protection, Regulatory Transaction Reporting and any other new/existing regulatory initiatives
•stay up to date with regulatory requirements and trends specifically supporting the US region and participate in any relevant regulatory change initiatives that impact IB Operations
•perform second-line-of-defense activities such as Thematic Reviews and provide forward looking challenge and oversight of key Operational or Regulatory risks and identifying these before others
•influence management within IB Operations on key operational risks and the actions required to mitigate risk
•represent the team and escalate compliance and operational risk issues/concerns in the relevant forums including Risk and Management Committees

Your team
You'll be working in a IB Operations C&ORC team in Weehawken, New Jersey, and you'll play a vital role in seeing that the necessary risk frameworks are appropriately embedded across the division. As a compliance and operational risk specialist you'll lead second line of defense activities and partner with the business to manage regulatory and associated risks

Your expertise
•bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance or a related field
•demonstrated track record in compliance, risk control or risk management within investment banking or previous experience in Operations would be advantageous
•analytic, with the ability to provide practical solutions for minimizing risk
•result-oriented and assertive (you don't shy away from challenging situations)
•experience facing off to US based stakeholders, having the gravitas to challenge them and make impact, in written or verbal communications
