Information and Digital Services, within the Corporate Services division, provides secure and modern IT services to support and enable DCJ staff to achieve positive outcomes for stronger communities.

About the role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join a newly appointed, passionate and motivated team. This portfolio incorporates a diverse client base, spanning four DCJ Divisions with a varied technology landscape. As part of a new team, you will be highly involved in building the foundations and culture in a fast-paced environment.

The ICT Business Analyst (Corporate Services, LRLS, SPC, TAO) role is to work closely with the Senior Business Analyst and undertake business analysis work to with Divisional stakeholders to cater for client ICT strategic needs. This role is a key contributor to enable clients to achieve Divisional objectives in alignment with the DCJ ICT Strategy. Activities performed in this role include:

Participating in workshops with business stakeholders to capture business requirements

Incorporating functional, non-functional requirements and success criteria (outcomes being sought) in project documentation

Engaging with subject matter experts to develop solution options

Contributing to the design and implementation of tools and processes

Undertaking research and analysis of best practice on processes and activities to ensure DCJ internal and external services are delivered efficiently, and alignment to strategic outcomes are achieved

Liaising and working across DCJ Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.

You will liaise with internal and external clients to identify business needs, understand "use case" scenarios, articulate requirements and support the Senior Business Analyst and Principal Consultant to facilitate improvements to business systems and processes.

You will work closely with internal ICT stakeholders (e.g., Project Managers, Architects, Cyber Security and Operations) to plan, initiate, and coordinate client funded projects and relative tasks in response to business needs. Authoring or providing accurate inputs into key documents such as Concept Papers, Project Briefs, Business Cases, Briefing Notes, and Business Requirements Documents is a key deliverable

Relevant experience with leading complex engagements and business analysis
