We have an exciting 12 month fixed term opportunity for a Commercial Analyst to join the ABS team in a fast-paced Finance shared services environment.

Your Role

The Asda Business Services function delivers a wide range of services to the Asda business, comprising Finance, Omnichannel Customer Support, HR share services, GNFR Procurement, Analytics and Decision Support and Digital Transformation. You will have a varied and valued Commercial Analyst role in this organisation, supporting the delivery of key strategic business objectives by providing financial insight and support to key internal stakeholders within the Business Services function.

You will facilitate a robust forecasting and reporting process to the Service Leaders, ensuring they have the clear visibility needed to drive maximum value to Asda and deliver on their annual finance commitments.

You will be confident in communicating with clarity to senior stakeholders and be passionate about coaching, providing guidance to non-finance colleagues in areas such as business case production and business change value tracking.

You will be encouraged to demonstrate a transformation mind-set to drive ongoing improvements in the processes you are responsible for.

This role will give you a solid grounding in relationship building and influencing, using these skills and opportunities to gain critical knowledge of different operational areas within the business services function. Within the role, based on performance, you will be given the opportunity to complete a Level 7 Accountancy Apprenticeship - which includes the CIMA professional qualification.

About you
  • Qualified/part-qualified accountant
  • You will have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You will have an aptitude for working with numbers and large data sets, be an advanced user of MS Excel and have an awareness and interest in data tools such as Alteryx and Power BI
  • You will have great attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • You will be a proactive self-starter with a positive growth mindset who enjoys working at pace
