IB Operational Risk Control Officer

Your role
Are you interested in developing and driving solutions that will advance our strategic objectives? Do you execute with excellence? We are looking for someone who will:

• act as an operational risk control subject-matter expert covering our Wealth Management (WM) Capital Markets in the Americas
• review, challenge and guide business management in the WM Capital Markets as well as functional leaders in compliance, legal, risk, credit risk, market risk and IT on operational risk matters
• perform business aligned operational risk activities, including event reviews, new business initiative reviews, issue management, and control assessments
• lead and develop thematic reviews, control testing, and other risk initiatives
• actively participate in Operational Risk control framework requirements such as Risk Appetite, Risk Identification for Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA), and Entity Risk Control Framework
• provide operational risk training and guidance
• participate and provide input in regulatory exams and inquiries

Your team
WM Capital Markets sits within the Investment Bank (IB) Divisional Compliance and Operational Risk (C&ORC) team. IB C&ORC provide independent oversight, challenge and control over the non-financial risks arising from our business activities to ensure compliance, conduct and operational risks are understood, owned, and managed to the our risk appetite.

Operational Risk Control (ORC) is a unit within Compliance & Operational Risk Control, whose main purpose is to independently ensure that all operational risks are understood, owned, and managed. ORC provides independent oversight of the operational risks arising from the IB business activities to support the C&ORC vision, be an industry leading function in the effective oversight of consequential risk management and help drive sustainable performance and the right outcomes for our clients, markets, and people.

Your expertise
• ideally 5+ years' experience in compliance, legal, risk control or audit with experience in operational risk control
• able to drive sustainable change, influence and uphold industry leading standards
• able to join the dots across divisions and business areas and collaborate to provide more holistic risk control environment
• take ownership and act with integrity
• team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
• able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, leveraging data analytics and technological capabilities
• possesses sound judgment, curiosity, and can adapt to a changing landscape
• excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to present to and respond effectively to internal and external stakeholders
