Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis, this key finance role on the NBC Sports finance team is responsible for planning and reporting consolidated financial results for all divisions of Sports including NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, Sunday Night Football, and the SportsNext businesses - Golf Now, Sports Engine and NBC Sports Bet.
The role will have the ability to gain an in-depth view and understanding of the Sports business model and the value of Sports content across NBC Universal. The Director, FP&A is responsible for the consolidated reporting of the Sports Group results and is heavily involved in the preparation of financial presentations to both Sports senior management and NBCU Corporate teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis of NBCUniversal's Sports business.
  • Must be able to dig into the details to analyze and understand causes of budget/actual variances.
  • Coordinate all aspects of financial planning and analysis for the Sports businesses, including pacing cycles, estimates and close.
  • Foster collaboration and streamline processes across various TV&S businesses
  • Work with the Sports Next finance teams to consolidate financial results and provide variance explanations and guidance on financial matters
  • Support VP, FP&A in leading annual Long-Range Plan and Budget processes, preparing supporting documentation, and developing presentations and decks for Sports senior leadership and NBCUniversal executive management
  • Serve as main point of contact for the Television and Streaming and Corporate FP&A teams.
  • Work with VP to prepare internal presentations for Monthly Operating Reviews.
  • Manage a team of 2 finance professionals + a CORE.
  • Assign/execute on other ad hoc requests as assigned by the CFO and VP.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of eight years' experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant finance and accounting skills, including Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Solid financial modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience leading a team of finance professionals.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize data and complex information, and present succinctly to executives and stakeholders at all levels.
