General job Description:
This role will be working closely with the Management Accountant, assisting in a wide variety of tasks to help monthly management accounts production. In addition, provide assistance to other Finance functions (Accounts Payable & Receivable) acting as a NAV super user within the department.
Main responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting with completing comprehensive balance sheet reconciliation pack each month, following up and resolving any issues
  • Maintenance of intercompany recharge schedule and processing invoices in NAV monthly (COGs and Overheads)
  • Taking ownership of fixed/rental assets:
o Ensuring depreciation processed in NAV each month
o Clearing down small balances
o Updating Fixed Asset and Rental Asset Registers ensuring these reconcile to NAV
  • Assisting with an accurate and timely month end close, including;
o preparation of journals
o completing margin and overhead cost investigations and analysis
o balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review of P&L expenditure, ensure coding is correct
  • Supporting the annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Collaboration with AP and AR to ensure accurate recording of transactions, supporting with ledger reconciliations and tidy up
  • Support with the completion of quarterly VAT returns/monthly CIS returns
  • Ad hoc analysis of expenditure for Group
  • Assistance in forecasting and budgeting procedures
  • Other tasks, as directed by the line manager
Requirements:
- ACCA/CIMA studier
- At least 2 years experience in an accounts assistant role incorporating varied transaction responsibilities
- Experience of Navision/Dynamics
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise
- Self-motivated, proactive and flexible team player
- Analytical and curious approach with strong attention to detail
- High level of accuracy & numeracy
- Advanced use of Excel, including pivot tables, look-ups and various formulae
- Experience of working within an inventory-based business (desired)
Location & Travel
Primary place of work: 72 Roding Road, Beckton E6. Option to work from home subject to agreement.
Occasional travel to other company offices as required.
