Reports to: Senior Finance Manager: Retail
Position Summary:
As part of a Reporting team of 16 you will play an important role in the provision of timely and accurate management information to a wide-ranging audience across the business. You will have ownership of our central costs P&L (budget £13m) and capex spend (budget £11m).
The role is varied and includes business partnering, periodic reporting, financial accounting and financial control.

- Ensure complete financial accounting in line with the month-end timetable and robust period end balance sheets.
- Provide key support to the Finance Manager in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management information to central teams. This includes preparation of P&Ls and KPI packs with commentary that demonstrates comprehensive understanding of cost drivers and variance analysis to budget and prior year.
- Identify drivers of overspend within overheads and support and challenge the budget owners through periodic review meetings to ensure delivery and control of their budget.
- Provide key support to the Finance Manager to guide central teams through the budget process, liaising closely with the Commercial Finance team to provide key inputs to their model.
- Continuous evolution of month end reporting and analysis to better communicate financial performance to key stakeholders to support decision making.
- Ownership of the fixed asset registers and depreciation, ensuring all assets have been appropriately recorded within the capex module.
- Establish robust reporting to track capex across the store estate and central operation.
- Provide key support to the Finance Manager to understand and challenge capex spend versus budget and last year.
- Significant involvement in the year-end process and preparation of deliverables for the audit.
- Support the implementation of a New Finance system (NetSuite)
- Training and development of the Assistant Management Accountants within the Retail team.
- Ongoing non-business as usual project work within the finance team as and when required.
- Part qualified accountant studying for a recognized accountancy qualification.
- Retail experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent numeracy and IT skills including advanced Excel with a strong attention to detail.
- Resilient and able to thrive in a faced-paced environment, juggling competing priorities.
