About The Role
This role is within the Commercial Finance team and reports to the Head of Commercial Finance and Planning.

This role will be split 50:50 between month end management accounting responsibilities and working on key priority financial projects:

Month end responsibilities

Prepare monthly reconciliations for key third-party suppliers and ensure all services are billed to the customers. This will include ensuring:
All customers are paying for what they are consuming including the onward billing of any over-usage charges (usage reconciliation);
All products / services no longer required by the customer have been decommissioned in the technical databases (internal decommissioning); and
All products / services no longer required by the customer have been cancelled with the third-party supplier(s) (external decommissioning)
Investigate and resolve all reconciliation variances as appropriate. This will include establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships to ensure corrective action is taken.
Ensure that the resolution of any third-party differences is achieved in a timely manner and that Claranet UK's records are amended as appropriate
Ensure that any credits are received from the 3rd party suppliers in a timely manner and the Financial Accounts team are notified
Recommend, where appropriate, internal process improvements that would reduce data errors and enhance the accuracy of Claranet UK's data and the reconciliation process
Continually improve the automation of the reconciliation process to improve accuracy and time lines of reconciliation
Finance projects

Working as part o fa team with the Commercial Finance team on adhoc projects, which could include:
Identifying costs having opportunities or non-profitable contracts through contract and invoice review
Work closely with the Management Accountants, Procurement, Technical and Customer Services teams to identify and collate relevant information.
Collating different information sources from different systems to determine profitability of services

Can pick up new concepts quickly Desirable:

Part Qualified Accountant or Desire to take an Accounting qualification
Experience of working in cross functional teams
Experience in reconciliation of bills
Previous experience in a technology business would be an advantage

The Assistant Financial Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining the lease accounting records, fixed asset reporting and reconciliations, collation of monthly payroll reports and the preparation of year end audit file and statutory accounts.
