JOB SUMMARY
This essential position provides general accountant support to the business office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of
the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist Payroll Specialists in performing the following functions:
  • Review employee hire forms for accuracy and add employee data into payroll software:
  • Confirm employee names matches to social security card
  • Add job in compliance with the data sheet
  • Add employee deductions
  • Save hire forms to managed documents
  • Cross check employees to board approved document prior to authorizing payment.
  • Ensure signed contract and at-will is obtained prior to authorizing payment.
  • Add signed contract and at-will to employee managed document.
  • Assist Accounts Payable Specialists in performing the following functions:
  • Process invoices ensuring appropriate paperwork has been completed
  • Match invoice to PO
  • Obtain appropriate signatures prior to paying
  • Verify invoice is dated upon receipt and is paid within 45 days of receipt
  • Reconcile AP statements monthly and resolve any disputes.
  • Assist in the Claims Docket reconciliation process.
  • Assist mailing claim checks bi-monthly.
  • Assist in scanning bi-monthly claims docket supporting documentation into managed documents
  • Assist Fixed Asset Specialist in year-end asset disposal process.
  • Answer telephone or e-mail inquiries and directs to appropriate staff member.
  • Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
  • Comply with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually.
  • Any other duties as assigned or removed by Finance Director.


  • Current enrolled college student with a major in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
