Assistant Management Accountant

Our client is based in Stoke on Trent and have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join their head office finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant. This diverse role offers a great opportunity to be involved in all aspects of accountancy, assisting with the production of the management accounts for one of the company's brands.Job Description:Responsibilities for the Assistant Management Accountant will include:* Preparation of month end management accounts including analysis of variances to budget and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.* Preparation of reports for Board members.* Preparation of annual budgets and development of robust forecasts for profit and loss, balance sheets and cashflow.* Assist in the preparation of financial statements, year end process and liaison with auditors.* Tight management of working capital and processing of payments.* Suggest and implement improvements to systems, processes and reporting.* Calculation and management of supplier and customer rebate schemes.* Preparation of returns for HMRC including VAT and reconciling PVA Statements to records.Candidate requirements for the Assistant Management Accountant role:* ACCA, ACA or CIMA part or fully qualified or qualified by experience.* Ideally experience as an Assistant Management Accountant within either the logistics, distribution or wholesale sectors.* Advanced Excel skills.* Experience using Microsoft Navision advantageous but not essential.* The ability to work to tight deadlines.* Knowledge of company tax requirements.* Commercial awareness and be used to working in a fast-paced environment.* A proactive and inquisitive nature and be a fast learner.* Strong/confident communication skills.Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pmSalary: Negotiable dependent on experienceBrampton Recruitment are an independent Commercial and Accounts & Finance recruitment agency working in partnership with employers spanning Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and the Greater Manchester region.
