The Client:
Our client for this role is a major utilities provider based out of the western suburbs of Melbourne. They currently have a requirement for a Business Analyst to join the organisation on an initial 3-month contract.

The Role:
This role is ideally for a BA with analysis, facilitation, stakeholder management and document writing skills required to support one of the client's internal Team Lead's. Experience and knowledge of IT Application Operation Support is highly regarded.

Responsibilities:
  • Compile the master application list.
  • Compile current operating model for each application.
  • Analyse the ticket volumes (incident / request / enhancements) to assess demand.
  • Create a process map of each business activities.
  • Use visualisation tools to manage work and demonstrate visibility of progress.
  • Manage risks and issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Lead workshops to identify and validate current state data integration processes.
  • Application integration data mapping, functional and non-functional requirements documentation.
  • Collaboration with architects, technical application owners and data SMEs.

Required Skills and Specialisms:
  • Experience analysing and designing IT operational business processes.
  • Demonstrable process deployment and continual service improvement experience.
  • Experience in technology operations areas leveraging ITIL and IT Service management practices.
  • Process map current state / future state.
  • Ability to create business process diagrams using standardised notation in Microsoft Visio or similar package.
  • The ability to conceptualise the differences between source and target systems and identify the influence the differences have on the transformation of data.
  • In depth knowledge and assessment of systems, and related data and repository systems, to ensure data related issues are captured.
  • Utilise qualitative and quantitative research methods to support business requirements with data that points to value.
  • Establishing clear representation of current state processes and systems (system-level/data level) along with capture of associated business rules.
  • Proficiency with establishing and maintaining Jira boards and confluence sites.
  • Solid experience in user story definition and user journey mapping.
  • Comfortable with the use of visualisation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-sufficient and used to working autonomously within a strongly governed environment.
