Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of financial products, particularly capital markets products; a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a drive to innovate and improve.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Be a subject matter expert on financial products / activities, particularly capital markets activities. Expertise should include knowledge of regulatory capital and reporting requirements. This individual will be the central point of contact within regulatory reporting and capital for capital markets activities.
  • Responsible for providing robust metrics, data-driven insights and analytics across related regulatory reporting schedules as well as to develop materials supporting the CFO attestations.
  • Establish and develop effective relationships within the lines of business and functions, across the three lines of defense.
  • Assess regulatory reporting impacts and implications of the company’s new products and activities, new trades and complex business transactions.
  • Document and maintain key rule interpretations and guidance for relevant US regulatory reporting and capital requirements through collaboration with all relevant stakeholders including business partners as well as partners in risk, finance, accounting policy and compliance.
  • Participate in industry forums related to regulatory initiatives. Be the subject matter expert to assess evolving regulations and shape comment letters submitted through advocacy groups.
  • Demonstrate abilities to challenge data reported in all reporting schedules adhered to respective guidance, identify potential gaps and develop remediation plans

Additional critical qualifications:

  • High standard of ethics and care in the handling of confidential information
  • A self-aware and self-confident individual who has well developed listening skills, and a strong ability to engage a group of accomplished partners by providing proactive advice on a variety of regulatory compliance, capital and reporting matters
  • Demonstrate the judgment and ability to closely partner with and advise senior and line managers and other stakeholders on regulatory interactions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability; attention to detail, objectivity, critical thinking, solid judgment and the ability to evaluate complex regulatory business issues and reach the right conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding time frames and to respond appropriately and competently to the demands of work challenges when confronted with changes, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures in order to meet commitments on time.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and successfully under minimal supervision
  • 8+ years of experience in a related role (e.g., audit, risk, financial accounting, financial reporting, finance data)
  • Bachelor’s degree / University degree or equivalent experience
  • CPA / CFA / FRM / MBA qualifications are a plus.
