  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Prepare year end statutory accounts for clients with supporting schedules for all balance sheet items and tax sensitive profit and loss items.
  • Liaise with clients as needed, dealing with issues which may arise, escalating to senior/manager as required.
  • Manage own workload and support others to ensure you work as a team and reviews are completed within the necessary timeframes. Become aware of own client’s deadlines.
  • Involvement in non-client projects to develop the department and our service offering.
  • Suggest and action process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Ad hoc administration tasks for the team and department.
  • Maintain and build relationships with clients and ensure that all communications are conducted in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate a sound awareness of how businesses operate, the commercial environment and its impact on the client’s business.
  • Manage information efficiently.
  • Maintain awareness of risk and deliver high quality documents.

When you join us, we’ll make your growth our priority. If you can demonstrate the following skills, we can help you go far. We’re looking for someone with:

  • AAT qualified or equivalent and pursuing further qualifications (ACA/ACCA) as relevant.
  • Proven experience of management accounts.
  • Good VAT and Corporate tax knowledge.
  • Experience of audit file preparation and liaison with audit teams (preferable not essential).
  • Basic understanding of simple consolidations and cashflow statements e.g. consolidations with acquisitions, disposals, associates, joint ventures and non-controlling interests (preferable not essential).
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and use of all standard in house packages.
  • Solid bookkeeping skills and good working knowledge of cloud accounting software.
  • Basic knowledge of the rules and regulations of doing business in the UK including reporting requirements, tax requirements.
  • Enthusiasm to grow and develop, and provide support to the team.
