We are currently recruiting a Principal Business Analyst to work for a leading public body that protects workplace pensions in the UK. The Principal Business Analyst will provide specialist financial analysis and strategic advice to case teams regulating Defined Benefit, pension schemes and Master Trusts. They will work through interaction with trustees and employers to ensure agreement of appropriate funding plans, and to protect members' benefits and the Pension Protection Fund through use of funding, clearance and moral hazard powers. They will support the organisation in regards to:
The Principal Business Analyst will provide specialist financial analysis and strategic advice to case teams regulating Defined Benefit, pension schemes and Master Trusts. They will work through interaction with trustees and employers to ensure agreement of appropriate funding plans, and to protect members' benefits and the Pension Protection Fund through use of funding, clearance and moral hazard powers. They will support the organisation in regards to:
- providing business/financial expertise to ensure an appropriate outcome of cases;
- reviewing agreed and proposed recovery plans with emphasis on affordability, viability, sustainable growth and cash management;
- taking a leadership role in business negotiations to ensure agreed recovery plans are appropriate;
- educating and mentoring case specialists and other professional disciplines on business assessment and practices including successful and useful interventions and approaches;
- contributing to the supervision of Master Trusts, Super Funds and CDC schemes.
- A fully qualified accountant or qualified by experience, or ACIB or CFA qualified.
- Track record of engagement with corporate entities and other professional advisors;
- Ability to analyse financial statements in detail;
- Understanding of corporate structuring / re-structuring, mergers and acquisitions;
- Understanding of business valuation techniques and typical corporate capital structures.
