Accountant (Pharmaceuticals)

The purpose of the accountant is to effectively perform the accounting role and responsibilities in Finance for the company business in Asia. Ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financials and ensuring the integrity the general ledger.

An international organization that develops, markets and sells a wide-range of prescription medicines and non-prescription consumer health products.

Description

• Support the accurate and timely reporting of all financial matters including but not limited to VAT, withholding tax and Company tax, and recording of transactions in SAP.
• Support the monthly closing process in accordance with local FRS requirements and internal timeframe.
• Perform trend/variance analysis on expense and highlight to the Finance Manager if there is any abnormality.
• Prepare balance sheet schedules and upload onto Blackline portal.
• Liaise with External auditors on the annual audit and annual reporting matters.
• Identify and implement process improvements and support the implementation of new financial policies
• Ensure SMART goals and objectives are developed, finalised, and approved by February of each year.
• Adherence to compliance, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

Profile

• Possess a Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent. CPA/CA desirable.
• Proficient in MS Office including strong Excel skills.
• Good working knowledge of SAP required. Experience in Blackline will be an advantage
• At least 5 - 7 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Working knowledge of taxation and requirements.
• Experienced working in an MNC environment.
• Preferably experienced in pharmaceutical/medical device industry.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
