Reporting to the Group Management Accountant in this busy events' led hotel, this position is a key contributor to the hotels' success. As Accounts Payable assistant you will have primary responsibility for the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring that all purchases and payments are accurately recorded and controlled but also have support responsibilities to the other finance functions.

Ideal candidates will have previous proven accounts payable experience for a minimum of 12 months in a fast paced, high-volume environment, with good working knowledge and experience using Procure Wizard or a similar procurement system.

To be successful in your application for the position of Accounts Payable Assistant, you must display the following:

  • Working knowledge of a standard accounts package
  • Working knowledge of excel
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems
  • A people person who is able to communicate and "get the message" across at all levels, fully connected to all areas of the business Ability to multitask and focus on multiple tasks and use own initiative to set own deadlines and prioritise a heavy workload
  • Well organised and structured in approach with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate a passion for the highest standards.


As Accounts Payable Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Processing all supplier invoices and payments
  • Processing all purchase orders via the purchase order log
  • Maintaining the PO log ensuring up to date and useable for tracking and accruals purposes, ensuring all PO's and invoices are appropriately authorised and matched to delivery notes where appropriate
  • Ensuring supplier accounts are fully reconciled and all accounts are up to date and accurate.
  • Implementing process improvements across the function, ensuring robust financial controls are in place
  • Ensuring accuracy of all supplier and payment data
  • Creating and maintain clear process notes
  • Managing the payment run, process of review and approval.
  • Maintaining filing systems and co-ordination of archiving.
