DETAILED DUTIES:
  • Assisting completion of the monthly and quarterly corporate close;
  • Assisting the new MGA company with monthly account procedures such as bank reconciliations and other adhoc journals.
  • Preparing monthly settlement requests between Group companies.
  • Assist the preparation of accruals and prepayment schedules for UK entities and the posting of monthly journals.
  • Preparation of the UK fixed asset register, including monthly reconciliation update, journal posting, additions/ disposals and running the depreciation process.
  • Provide assistance to the accounts payable team, where needed, for the uploading of invoices to the expense system and subsequent journal recognition.
  • Assist with ensuring process and control documentation is kept up-to-date and relevant.
  • Reconciliation of various corporate company control accounts and investigating issues when they arise.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc projects as and when they become required.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in accounting is preferred (including the study of accounting and finance), although not essential.
Skills/Attributes:
  • Candidates will be required to express a desire for a career within accounting/ insurance.
  • The candidate needs to possess strong analytical skills, including a strong understanding of Excel and vlookup/ pivot tables, and have a keen eye for detail.
  • The candidate needs to be extremely organised and have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently, but also as part of a wider team
