Position Summary :

The Global Assurance Operations Manager ("Operations Manager") will work closely with the Global Assurance Markets Leader and the Global Assurance Growth Leader. He/She will be part of the core team responsible for managing all operational activities. Day to day, the Operations Manager will be accountable for ensuring the delivery of proactive, high quality, strategic operations management aligned to the execution of Global Assurance Markets priorities. This will be achieved through both the Operations Manager's personal delivery of complex and strategic operational tasks, as well as equipping Senior leadership of Assurance with relevant Markets insights for their respective leadership meetings.

The Operations Manager will report to the Global Assurance Markets Leader. Operations Manager will be responsible for liaising with various support teams like EY Knowledge, BMC, Channel Shift team and others to source relevant insights on behalf of the leadership. The individual will be the first point of contact for Area Assurance BD team, Assurance Sector Leaders, Global Executives' Chief of Staff, and other senior stakeholders on any markets related topics.

The person needs to be a self-starter and very comfortable working relatively autonomously. Strong business and operational acumen, and a strategic, global, and agile mindset is vital. Building strong network within and outside the Assurance service line is critical. The individual will be working with senior leaders in the firm and should possess the skills to influence without authority to get the job done. The role also requires the person to be able to work through business problems from start to finish with limited guidance, including the ability to convert abstract concepts into compelling deliverables.

Job Specification

  • Responsible for deploying strategic and tactical operational activities required to enable the Global Assurance Markets and the broader Assurance practice's priorities. This includes personal delivery of complex and strategic operational activities.
  • Understand the Assurance growth ambitions and sub service line (Audit, FAAS, CCaSS and Forensics) level priorities. Facilitate and support SSL Markets leaders to embed themselves into the broader Global Markets ecosystem.
  • Develop a clear understanding and definition of the Global Assurance Markets' strategic and operational requirements, enabling easy liaison with senior stakeholders in terms of projects and related activities.
  • Lead the recurring core team meetings. Track and monitor action items on behalf of Assurance Markets Leader. Support the Global Assurance Markets Leader in executing actions and ensure timely completion.
  • Work closely with the Global Assurance Markets Leader to proactively identify operational business needs, co-develop actions, timelines and ensure successful completion.
  • Be the first point of contact and responder for requests for Markets content, through the coordination and creation of insights (with input as necessary from Area Assurance BD Leaders, Assurance Finance, Assurance Sector Leaders, Channel Shift team, BMC, Knowledge etc.). Examples of requests (but not limited to):
    • Markets commentary, Pursuits, wins and losses insights for Global Vice Chair Assurance and Deputy Vice Chair Assurance ahead of executive leadership meetings (e.g., Global Executive meeting, Global Executive Operating Committee - GEOC, Global Markets Investment Committee - GMIC)
      • Monthly and Quarterly high-profile wins for Carmine Di Sibio and Andy Baldwin's Partner webcast
      • Insights on Top-End (Fortune Global 500, Forbes Global 2000) audit market share impact and its resultant financial impact on Assurance and EY business.
    • Project manage and participate in key Assurance Markets meetings and events. For example, Monthly Assurance Markets Board meeting, Monthly Invest to Win Area Markets meeting, Annual Markets leadership meeting, Annual Revenue Planning meetings etc. Activities include (but are not limited to) drafting agenda and content, coordinating logistics, securing speakers and content, capturing meeting notes and following up on actions.
    • Motivate and inspire others to achieve individual and organizational objectives through highly visible and effective personal interventions.
    • Develop, maintain, and promote effective relationships and engagement with key stakeholders across the firm with a view to increasing awareness and bring cross-service line perspective to the team.

    • The role is not restricted to the responsibilities listed above and the candidate needs to be flexible and adapt to the business requirements. The role would also require the candidate to work in flexible shifts including US shifts depending on stakeholder locations. In addition, the role may require being present at some Assurance Markets meetings and events, so the candidate should be prepared to travel internationally several times a year.

      Experience and qualifications:
    • Postgraduates with 12+ years relevant work experience and successful track record in delivering autonomous operations management in large complex organizations, budget management, project management, executive reporting, analysis, industry knowledge, business planning, stakeholder management and people development.
    • Experience of successfully interacting with geographically dispersed and culturally diverse professionals strongly preferred
    • Understanding of business research/data analysis/modelling concepts within Industries
    • Professional service experience or internal/external client serving experience preferred
