Our Competition Services Team is looking for an accountant at Manager or Assistant Manager level

Do you have an accountancy qualification and two to three years of auditing, business consultancy, or report writing? If so, then this could be the chance for you to put that experience to good use. Working on a portfolio of different cases, one day you could be reviewing monthly financial performance and non-financial KPIs of a small animal practice and the next day you could be assessing European credit card charges to retailers for a global provider.

Our Competition Services team has extensive experience in acting as an Independent Monitor, acting in more than 80 cases and reporting to regulators around the world, like the FTC and the European Commission.

A look into the role

As a Manager or Assistant Manager in our Competition Services team, you will:
  • Support the Partner and Directors with their wide and varied portfolio of monitoring assignments
  • Summarise management accounts and provide commentary on large or unusual variances
  • Review KPIs and ascertain reasons for unusual trends
  • Take responsibility for discrete sections of reports such as financial performance of the business
  • Gain insight into a variety of different businesses ranging from global social media platforms to whisky distilleries
  • Participate in and lead discussions with clients, lawyers, and regulators all over the world on a regular basis
  • Help to prepare pitch documents


Knowing you're right for us

Joining us as a Competition Services Manager or Assistant Manager, the minimum criteria you'll need is experience of how businesses work in a commercial setting, through direct experience or though audit/advisory/consulting roles.

In addition, we are looking for someone with strong accounting knowledge (AAT or equivalent as a minimum).

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.
  • Experience in an accounting/consultant firm or similar
  • Clear writing skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Foreign language skills desirable but not essential
