The job: Finance Training & Audit Accountant

Based within our wider Finance function this role will drive efficiencies & effectiveness through standardized processes within the department. The individual in this role will be responsible for driving quality & harmonizing reporting through auditing of accounting processes & practices. You will support & represent Finance on projects across the business, ensuring any accounting changes are implemented in a consistent manner.

What will you do?

  • Assist with the development, training & implementation of standardized finance processes including regular review & improvement of existing processes to ensure they are still current.
  • The audit and review of entities to ensure the standardized processes are implemented and are being followed & ensure consistent reporting.
  • Support Finance on project-based work and, if required, for Thermo Fisher worldwide.
  • Understand & implement any changes in accounting polices & practices at local level under local GAAP or Corporate level under US GAAP.
  • Maintaining the reporting between local ERPs & Corporate reporting software and reconciliation of the two.
  • Provide adhoc support to all RSD Europe accounting teams where additional resource for period end close & /or reporting is required.

Who we are looking for:
  • Firm understanding of the foundation & principles of accounting with experience within the different accounting function (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, General Ledger & FP&A).
  • Experience of challenging the norm, investigating issues, proposing solution & working with other colleagues, departments and the wider business to deliver the required changes.
  • Qualified accountant - CIMA or ACCA preferred with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience
  • IBS & Hyperion knowledge is desirable
