Mixed Tax Manager required to join a leading practice who have seen vast growth over the last few years and are looking to recruit a Mixed Tax Manager (Personal Tax, trusts and Corporate Tax) for their growing team in Chester with a strong national and local presence. The Mixed Tax Manager will ideally be CTA, ACA, or ACCA trained with good experience working with personal taxes, trusts, and corporation tax. Within the Chester office, they offer a wide range of accountancy and tax planning services with a speciality in the school academies, Health care, and Agricultural sectors.
The Role
This role would involve working with a wide range of clients in particular high net worth and owner-managed businesses. The role would be approximately 75% compliance with 25% advisory.
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing personal & corporate tax compliance and advisory services in support of the Tax Partners to a client portfolio.
  • Maximising fee income and generating new client and tax consultancy work from a portfolio.
  • Management of a mixed tax function and staff, ensuring efficient production and quality levels are met and that junior tax staff are developed to achieve their full potential.
  • Managing the tax advisory projects for a portfolio of clients, reviewing CT600 returns & work carried out by team members to ensure work is completed within timeframes and budget
  • Responding to personal tax and corporate tax queries from clients and undertaking Partner billing
  • Providing advice on a wide range of personal tax and corporate tax matters (both domestic and international)
  • Attending client meetings and presentations, corresponding with clients and external tax agencies
Skills and Experience
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA (or overseas equivalent) qualified is a strong preference
  • Practical experience with UK Partnership Tax and working in a professional services environment
  • Personal Tax, Trusts, and Corporation experience, including UK partner returns reporting profits from partnerships
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-review, discipline, and intellectual curiosity as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload to work accurately under pressure to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to manage projects and teams working on those projects
  • High and focused energy levels and a flexible approach
