Your field of responsibility

Credit Suisse is seeking a U.S. information reporting and withholding specialist to function as the Tax Advisory Lead. This role will report to the Global Head of Operational Tax in New York and will be an integral part of the CS Global Tax Group.

Applicant will provide tax advice to the Tax Control Unit impacted by U.S. tax laws and regulations relevant to U.S. information reporting and withholding. Provide regulatory analysis and advisory support to the global QI Compliance & Advisory team based in Zurich. Partner closely with colleagues across Group Tax and relevant Business Partners addressing key risks, business requirements and key controls across the global organization. The U.S. tax laws and regulations include chapters 3 and 4 (and other relevant Code sections), as well as Qualified Intermediary obligations, IRC section 871(m), 1446(f), etc., and legislative proposals and IRS/Treasury mentorship.

Applicant will also lead the Operational Tax Regulatory Development team providing analysis and tax advice on DAC6, Economic Substance and Block list regulations and supporting impact assessments of regulatory developments.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for applicants who possess an LLM in Tax and is a Licensed Attorney and/ or CPA with a Masters in Tax along with proven experience of 10+ years within Group Tax functions of banks, with a minimum of 5 years of Information Reporting and Withholding combined with other corporate and international tax proven experience;

  • Understanding of Investment Banking and Wealth Management products and propositions;
  • Detailed understanding of US Information Reporting and Withholding obligations for U.S. and Global Withholding Agents;
  • Proven ability to lead and guide international teams;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal and presentational) with developed soft skills and extensive experience of key partner management as senior levels;
