Robert Half Financial Services is hiring for a financial reporting Manager role within a growing global provider of administration in Hong Kong.

The Role

The financial reporting manager will be a member of the finance team, assisting in ensures that the aforementioned functions are properly carried out according to the accounting standards, group standards and regulatory rules. The financial reporting Manager will be expected to play an active role on day-to-day operations and projects in the following areas:

  • Manage the financial reporting process of the Hong Kong Branch
  • Supervise certain accounting and accounts payable processes and the related system enhancement initiatives
  • Ensure the accurate monthly reporting process for Bank of Spain (BoS)
  • Perform assessment on the accounting treatment for current / new products and business, including but not limited to the booking logic, BoS reporting treatment, and the financial and regulatory reporting impact
  • Review and implement new accounting standards and ensuring it's properly implemented
  • Ensure the tax filings / returns are adequately prepared and submitted
  • Provide accounting and tax advice to Business Units when required
  • Coordinate, collaborate and participate in accounting related initiatives for the Asia Pacific region
  • Manage internal and external audits and attend to regulatory inquiries
  • Maintain the Policies & Procedures applicable to the Financial Control area to ensure a proper control & governance framework is in place

Your Profile

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines and a qualified accountant
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in financial institutions or CPA firms preferably in the FI area and at least in managerial grade
  • Strong knowledge on the financial control and regulatory framework for banks
  • Strong knowledge on corporate banking products and the related treatments in IFRS
  • Strong analytical skills, detail/accuracy oriented
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and research into new areas
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle difficult situations
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing timelines and work under pressure
  • Strong leadership and good people management
  • Drive for operational efficiency / controls and proven track records in process improvement
  • Knowledge / experience in SAP definitely an advantage
  • Exposures to HK tax is a plus
  • Proficiencies in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
