The job: Financial Analyst - Hybrid Working

We have an opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join us at our site in Basingstoke. In this role the successful candidate will be an integral part of the Microbiology Division's FP&A team and work closely with key finance and business stakeholders to deliver growth and profitability.
The role will lead the monthly reporting and forecasting processes while providing analytical support to functional partners. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will support, and complete tasks related to implementation, standardization and continuous improvement of processes around financial planning, analysis and reporting.

What will you do?

  • SG&A reporting and forecasting: consolidate and analyze expense detail across the Division, identify the key factors driving variances to Annual Operating Plan and Forecast, partner with divisional budget owners to support decisions and drive cost optimization
  • Develop, standardize and improve financial data, analytics and reports, supporting the division's Monthly/Quarterly/Annual planning processes and business reviews (MBR, QBR)
  • Build and consolidate headcount reports, trend and performance analysis
  • Drive a continuous improvement (PPI) approach and leverage IT tools with a focus on automation, process enhancements, cross-functional business partnering and controls strengthening
  • Act as the FP&A process subject matter expert for the division and support key transformational projects, focusing on Hyperion Planning (PLN) implementation and stabilization
  • Support ad-hoc internal, group and corporate requests as needed

Who we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent knowledge.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, reporting and controlling preferably within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Advance user of systems (Excel, Hyperion SmartView or equivalent financial program, Power BI, etc.) and comfortable with large, sophisticated datasets.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to summarize and present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven history of working cross-functionally and developing constructive relationships with customers, peers, and business partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, exercise good judgement, and prioritize projects and time effectively
