General Summary:

This position reports to the European Head of Finance or their designee; and is located in Banbury, UK. This role plays a significant part assisting with financial reporting, planning and analysis and tax compliance filings in Europe. The work will span over both European companies in the UK and Italy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.

Business Partnering

• Assist in the preparation of detailed commentary for variances vs budgets/forecasts.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

Cost Cap

• Assist with both interim & full year reporting for the FIA Financial Regulations.
• Ensuring compliance with the FIA Financial Regulations, identifying any gaps in controls / processes and introduce improvements to minimise the risk of non-compliance.

Reporting & Tax Compliance

• Manage the timely production of management reporting for the business including fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, intercompany recharges etc.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with accurate supporting documentation.
• Prepare detailed schedules for annual statutory audits.
• Prepare UK VAT returns and oversee Italian VAT reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of annual transfer pricing policy updates, R&D tax credits plus other tax compliance filings etc.

Other

• Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the European Head of Finance or their designee.
• Follow all safety regulations in all venues.

Education and Work Experience:

Part qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) qualification, with a suitable grounding in accounting principles and an understanding of FRS 102 and group accounting preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, communication and confidentiality.
• Be flexible and opened minded when dealing with problems.
• Highly motivated and keen whilst also being able to work under time pressures to meet monthly reporting and filing deadlines.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills, be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred will be beneficial.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some occasional domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
