Reporting to Group Financial Controller you will join a team of passionate staff who are playing their part in making sure that we are here to deliver an exceptional learning experience for students. The Accounting Manager reports into the Group Financial Controller and is responsible for end to end ownership of accounting, financial reporting and business partnering for all cost centre departments, commissions, research and grants. On a typical day in this role you will be responsible for:• Cultivate, mentor and develop a higher performing team • Develop annual budget and monthly forecast for responsible departments (Cost Centre, VC & Commissions)• Partner with cost centre budget owners to provide forecast spend & analyse actual results vs. forecast• Responsible for timely and accurate reporting including annual audit required for various company grants and government funded research projects• Support SOX compliance and initiatives throughout the year • Prepare financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management and statutory bodies• Responsible for month end close activities related to research, grants marketing, commissions and other as requiredThis is a permanent role role based in Sydney.To be successful in this position you will have:• 6+ years of progressive finance experience with 2 years+ managing a team• Chartered Accounting qualification• Up to date knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP (preferred) accounting standards & account preparation • Experience around a sales organization supported by a CRM system• Ability to work autonomously• Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skillsWho are we?Our ambition is to revolutionise the world of education, increase student employability and make a positive impact.
