Finance Officer

The Finance Officer is the Bookkeeper for this school, based in Bedford. Alongside general bookkeeping duties the role entails some financial analysis and general admin tasks. The finance officer will report to the Trust Accountant.

Description

• Operation and control of school budget and school fund accounts
• Follow authorisation policy and procedures precisely
• Monitor Accounts payable and receivable
• Invoicing debtors periodically and controlling payment of invoices receivable
• Returning all financial returns in timely and accurate manner incl- Cash Flow analysis, VAT returns, Quarterly Returns, School budget info and Standards fund
• Assisting in the planning and building of the budget for the new financial year

Profile

• An Understanding of accounting and finance for an education and training establishment desirable
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of finance systems
• Working knowledge of accounting software
• Experience using Excel and MS office
• Actively studying AAT, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or equivalent
• Strong skills in financial analysis and risk management
• Able to work independently to tight deadlines with excellent time management
