Department profile:

The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records and by contributing to Firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Role responsibilities:

  • Capital reporting and monitoring for MSEHSE based legal entities Pillar 1 capital calculations, Pillar 3 disclosures and regulatory returns including monitoring of controls to ensure provision of accurate capital metrics to key stakeholders, governance forums, regulators and publicly disclosed Pillar 3 information.
  • Produce daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual capital reporting, analytics and monitoring with oversight over supporting functions in Budapest and Mumbai.
  • Ensure timely execution of ad hoc deliverables in response to regulator requests
  • Provide leadership and direction around implementation of regulatory rule and reporting changes including infrastructure and operating model development
  • Preparation of internal reports and disclosures to support effective management decision making
  • Work with Business units and other infrastructure groups to help facilitate new business and manage capital resources
  • Engage across wider European and Global regulatory controllers team to leverage global models and promote global consistency

Qualifications

Skills required:

  • Scope of role requires detailed knowledge across European regulations and regulators and experience in implementing strategic regulatory projects.
  • Significant experience in management of teams as well as experience in working with outsourced locations.
  • Experience of interactions with European and German regulators
  • Established leadership and relationship building experience
  • Clear, concise and adaptable communication style
  • Demonstrable analysis, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Planning and organisation expertise working with virtual global teams
  • Self-motivated personality with high standards for quality of work and accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications
  • University degree level with an Accounting qualification or equivalent

Team Profile: Regulatory Controllers is a global team operating within the finance department responsible for the production, monitoring and reporting of regulatory capital information. The team in Frankfurt works closely with the London, Glasgow, Budapest and Mumbai offices.
