Position
Lex Caribbean Attorneys-At-Law, a vibrant, leading law firm, is seeking a motivated, energetic, Accounting Officer to work within the Finance Department and support the accounting function for the group of companies.
Overview of the Position
Provide support to the Finance Team and Senior Accountant by ensuring accurate and timely accounting information is available and prepared according to IFRS reporting standards, assisting with efficiency improvements, policies, procedures, and internal controls documentation.
Overview of Responsibilities and Technical Requirements
* Manage the payroll function including benefit and statutory deduction processing
* Manage the receivables process including application of client trust funds
* Ensure statutory obligations are met in the TAMIS tax filing system including corporate tax, VAT and PAYE
* Perform general accounting activities including the reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts
* Prepare bank reconciliations
* Prepare monthly management financial statements for both single entities and combined for the entire Group
* Assist with special projects as required
Be at the final level of an accounting designation (CPA, ACCA), or recently qualified, good analytical and critical thinking skills, team player, audit experience as well as experience with medical and pension benefits would be an asset.
Other Required Skills
The other skills required include:
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Proactively engage professional skepticism to identify and resolve issues
* Excellent time management skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 including Teams, Excel, and Microsoft Word
* Proficient in the use of accounting software
