The Group Corporate Services team is part of Group Finance, partnering with senior leadership of the bank’s Property and Procurement functions. The team manages the end to end finance functions for these businesses, providing strategic support, financial and management reporting and collaborating regularly with other Business Unit and Group finance teams throughout the organisation.
Property Finance partner with Group Corporate Services to provide advice on financial management and strategy related to the Group’s property portfolio, and property related projects. The role also partners with all areas of CommBank to provide insight and analysis related to the costs associated with the Group Corporate Services.
The team manages the end to end finance functions for these businesses, providing strategic support, financial and management reporting and collaborating regularly with other Business Unit and Group finance teams throughout the organisation.
The role provides financial support to the Group Property division and Financial Services Leadership team, with a focus on system processes, management reporting and cost allocations across the Group.
Do work that matters
- Key business partner for Group Corporate Services, specifically managing the Group’s property costs (P&L $1bn).
- Management reporting for the property business including reporting to GCS business, Group Finance, and various Business Units within the Bank.
- Ensuring month end deliverables are completed for example, variance analysis including vs budget/forecast, journals, Balance Sheet reconciliations, preparation of monthly reporting packs, and all other month end requirements.
- Prepare bottom-up plan builds and ongoing forecasting of the Group’s property costs, and demonstrated an ability to work with large sets of data across various sources.
- Manage, review processes and deliverables prepared and produced from support staff, on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
- Routine activities in CBA including Plan transfers, GL Hierarchy changes and other items that may arise.
- Opportunity for involvement in the development and adoption of a new property IT platform, and helping drive the change in the shape of the way that we work.
- Drive a productivity and innovation culture, and identify and deliver on opportunities for business and process improvements.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have
- CA/CPA qualification
- Degree in Accounting or Commerce
- Experience in a management accounting role
- Property experience not essential but would be looked upon favourably
- Strong business partnering skills and ability to manage and influence stakeholders
- High degree of commercial acumen
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to work independently, self-motivated to develop and grow skillsets.
- Continuously challenge and innovate in your role
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines through prioritisation of own tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
