The Role Responsibilities
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Relational databases and Hadoop 'big data' technologies.
- Work with data scientist and data analyst to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Partnership with business users to define the data governance, operating model, and user security matrix to handle the data security requirements.
Our Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
- Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Hive etc.
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Scala, Shell etc.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Oracle.
- Experience (nice to have) with tool like Dataiku, Mosaic, Alteryx etc.
