Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Location: Bromley, Kent

This role covers all aspects of financial reporting and performance including statutory reporting, internal management reporting (including Board reporting) and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Timely preparation of monthly management reporting pack, including Board pack.
  • Quarterly preparation and submission of Group financials under Canadian IFRS.
  • Preparation and review of year-end statutory accounts under IFRS for insurance, holding and dormant companies and annual submission of Solvency II reports to PRA.
  • Preparation /review of other statistical returns, e.g. ONS, ABI.
  • Preparing and posting monthly journal entries into the Infor Sun System general ledger as well as quarterly consolidation entries and technical provisions.
  • Reviewing and approving journals prepared by junior members of the team.
  • Assisting with preparation of inputs into the strategic business plan.
  • Maintaining procedure documents and reporting timetable.
  • Implementing process improvements to all reporting and internal control procedures.
  • Participating in ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Supporting the development of pro forma financial statements, compliant with IFRS 17 disclosure requirements and implementing the IFRS 17 related changes to the general ledger.
  • Establishing a good relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Finance Reporting Manager in creating an environment of continuous improvement to ensure that all reporting is conducted to the highest possible standard, within set deadlines whilst meeting efficiency requirements.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with minimum of 3years PQE and a minimum of one year's financial reporting experience within financial services (insurance, asset management or banking).
  • Statutory experience is essential and SII reporting desirable.
  • Appreciation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 desirable.
  • Familiarity with Infor Sun accounting system would be an advantage.
  • Intermediate Excel user and proficient at Word and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with an eye for details and determination to deliver accurate and informative results.
  • Ability to work on projects as required, understanding of deadlines and ability to cope with change.
  • Desire to maintain and develop relevant knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team with good communication skills.
