Our client is a well established investment firm and in the market since over 20 years.
They are looking to expand its management team with a Director of Finance & Operations in the Swiss based trading organization. The role will be based in Rapperswil, primarily interacting with the trading and operations staff in Switzerland and Hungary reporting to the VP of Operations in the US, with dotted line responsibilities to the CEO of our EU group.

Our client is a well established investment firm and in the market since over 20 years.
They are looking to expand its management team with a Director of Finance & Operations in the Swiss based trading organization. The role will be based in Rapperswil, primarily interacting with the trading and operations staff in Switzerland and Hungary reporting to the VP of Operations in the US, with dotted line responsibilities to the CEO of our EU group. In addition to working within the EU team, the Director will be required to work closely with business units in the US. The individual will support the day to day finance and operational needs of the EU business unit, scale for future EU expansion, and serve as a liaison between the EU and US organization. The Director is a highly cross-functional role, and to be successful it will take a well-rounded experienced individual with an entrepreneurial mind and hands-on approach.
Description
- Play a pivotal role in the restart of the EU trading business, while paving the way for the operations to support the future expansion of the EU presence.
- Manage and control corporate accounting/finance activities and support the on site CEO and US based leadership with budget and board of directors reporting
- Plan and prepare for audits, including finalizing reports for senior management review and sign off
- Work with the EU accountant to further develop internal controls and procedures ensuring all processes are properly backed up and documented
- Oversee EU Group procurement and be the point of contact with the US team.
- Provide administrative and operational support for the EU trading business as the liaison between EU and US and working directly with the operations teams as required to provide relief during increased volumes or events
- Partner with the EU CEO and US leadership regarding key corporate projects including operations, finance, and compliance.
- Act as the EU backup for compliance and financial reporting in accordance with FINMA regulation
- Keep US leadership up to date on changing EU/FINMA regulations and policy matters
- Liaising with local regulators and coordinate responses to ad-hoc regulatory enquiries
Profile
- Previously held a leadership position in financial services
- Higher education degree in Banking, Economics, Business Administration or similar
- Minimum 5 years of finance and operations experience working financial services administration under Swiss regulation as it relates to equity and listed derivative products
- Understanding of IFRS and GAAP
- Experience working in a compliance function for equity and listed derivative businesses within a trading organization
- Experience in Oracle a plus
- Business fluent in English and ideally proficiency in German
- Highly organized and proficient project management skills
- Have a positive, hands-on, "can do" attitude
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High integrity, independent and individually motivated, team player
