State Street Global Exchange’s “Data-as-a-Service” platform, Alpha Data Services, lets you load, enrich and aggregate investment data. Clients’ will be able to manage multi-asset class data from any service provider or data vendor for a more holistic and integrated view of their holdings. This platform reflects State Street’s years of experience servicing complex instruments for our global client base and our investments in building advanced data management technologies.

Why this job is important to us

The Test Manager is a versatile individual with strong business systems and data analysis skills for development and support of Alpha Data Services solutions, services and product offerings. In addition, they should have previous experience in test strategy development, overall test planning, automation and test environment planning. The successful candidate must be skilled in complex business and data analysis; have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; a proven ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams and display strong collaboration skills. This role is in support of Alpha client implementation team.

What you will be responsible for

  • The Test Manager is both an internal and client facing role that serves as our primary test liaison to support client onboarding.
  • This role will work closely with client implementation teams to develop a robust test strategy that is inclusive of Business and Client testing.
  • The test strategy should articulate the environment, business domains, data cycles, data quality and operational workflow required to successfully execute both BUAT and CUAT
  • In addition, this person will be accountable for setting up a standard testing framework and methodology that can be used for each Alpha implementation effort
  • Work on multiple client implementations to develop and deploy and cohesive test strategy
  • Provide oversight and guidance to a team of test business analysts
  • Evaluate automation options and look to improve efficiency of testing so we can test faster, retain quality and minimize onboarding time
  • Manage a pool of Business Test Analysts who are experienced with business domains (ABOR/IBOR/PERF/RISK/Security Reference/Etc.), test methodologies, test tools, testing lifecycle and test artifacts
  • Ensure BA team effectively collaborates with client implementation teams on setting up a standard testing framework
  • Contribute to standard artifact creation such as test plans , test cases and defect logs
  • Engage with Product Management, Technology, and Operations teams to contribute to future state platform design emphasizing software functionality, data quality, operational efficiency and managing the interrelationships of the systems and processes that encompass the entire Alpha ecosystem.
  • Prior experience in leadership roles running a testing function and team of test analysts is preferred
  • Proficiency in financial data and accounting principles analysis is preferred
  • Work as a member of a global team – provide status, communicate issues, share ideas, and follow process for analysis, development and support protocols.

Education and preferred requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • 10+ years of financial services experience is required.
  • 10+ years of experience with supporting client implementations or similar work
  • CFA, CIPM designation is a differentiator
  • Experience with testing tools and test automation is preferred
  • ExtensiveInvestment Management experience; prior management experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting platforms
  • Previous experience implementing software or data service is a big plus
  • Experience in or desire to learn technical skills, e.g , SQL, database design, multi-tenancy architecture, etc. is required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and with clients.
  • Ability to reprioritize quickly.
