Audit Technician

We are looking to recruit a number of Audit Technicians to support our expanding Audit team.

The Role!

As an Audit Technician, you will receive practical training and guidance to enable you to perform core audit tests in support of our wider statutory audit responsibilities. You will work under the direction of our established team in a mix of office and client-based environments. You’ll get to work with many different people from a large range of clients in a diverse number of sectors including SME’s, family-owned businesses, large corporate and not-for-profit organisations.

With early practical client exposure, you’ll quickly gain an insight to a variety of client finance functions and be undertaking a range of audit tests on the systems and controls those clients implement to ensure the completeness and accuracy of their financial reporting. This allows you to develop into a technical expert.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • practical client exposure
  • insight to a variety of client finance functions
  • guidance in the design of tests to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial reporting
  • undertaking a range of audit tests on the systems and controls

This role will enable you to take full advantage of the hybrid working that we offer to all of our people. Whether you’re working from the office, from home or from a client site, we support our people to achieve the right balance of flexibility in line with delivering excellent client service.

Outside of the normal day job, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in business development activities and initiatives such as CSR, diversity and sports and social activities.

What we are looking for…

We’re looking for enthusiastic, diligent and motivated people who are interested in developing knowledge and gaining practical experience in the performance of audit work in a varied and supportive environment.

This role would suit a candidate with an interest in finance and who would enjoy gaining an insight of financial controls within a wide range of businesses. The successful candidates will enjoy practical training and provide valued support to the audit department. As the focus of this role is practical learning rather than a formal qualification, we are encouraging potential applicants from a wide background and prior experience, whilst valued, is not a requirement.

How to apply: Please submit a CV via our career site and ensure that your CV states all qualifications including subjects and grades.

We welcome applicants who would like the flexibility in their working arrangements, including working from home or part time working, which may help to accommodate parent or carer responsibilities, further studies and activities outside of work.

We are committed to welcoming new people into an inclusive working environment, where everyone is given equal opportunity to reach their full potential.  We support a culture where people are valued and treated fairly with respect and differences are understood and celebrated.

The more varied our workforce, the broader the expertise within our business. The broader our expertise, the greater our chances of innovation and success. That's why we're committed to equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion at every level.
