Department Profile:

The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.
From the largest global institutions to innovative new hedge funds, investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instruments including stocks, bonds, derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities. Our professionals provide liquidity and content to clients around the world, actively assessing and managing risk, trading securities, and planning and executing transactions in the fast-changing markets. As the needs of our clients become increasingly complex, we often develop customized solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop trading models and systematic strategies, manage trading automatons for EGBs and IRS
  • Manage the risks in the trading books
  • Create, analyze and automate metrics linked to the activity: PnL explain, execution, competition analysis, etc.
  • Collaborate with quants, sales, clients and other traders to improve our electronic offering, guide model implementations, prioritize technology investments, etc.

Qualifications

Skills required:

  • Experience in a quantitative role (trader, quant, or structure)
  • Experience in electronic trading is a plus
  • Excellent networker, comfortable navigating a large investment bank
  • Strong coding skills (python essential, KDB is a plus) and advanced knowledge of statistics, probability, optimization
  • Strong communication skills: ability to discuss and write market color, present trading ideas, etc.
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in a scientific discipline
