Here at Serco, we are seeking an Assistant Accountant to take responsibility for providing timely and accurate financial and management information across a portfolio of contracts to the Leisure Senior Team. The successful candidate will act as a trusted point of contact for business leaders, transforming financial and non-financial information into insight to influence decision making.

As part of this you'll:
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting including the production of monthly accounts.
• Take overall responsibility for contract balance sheets to include monthly reviews, detailed quarterly reviews and actions to clear.
• Take responsibility for accurate completion of VAT returns.
• Promote and lead on continuous improvement of financial processes.
• Development and maintenance of billing handover schedules.

What you'll need to do the role

First and foremost, you'll need to have a proven track record of collaborating with business leaders in a complex business environment. You will have experience of adding value in a commercially orientated bidding and contracting environment. You will have strong commercial acumen, as well as demonstrable experience of understanding relationships between key financial and non-financial business value drivers. Lastly, you will show evidence of building trust with a team; allowing direct conversations and not sanitising messages.
